One of the ways you can play digital content back from your laptop, hand-held, iPod, etc. is by plugging into the patch board to the left of the main board, which allows you to channel it through the board.

You want to connect your laptop, etc. to one of the channels on the main board. You are going to use the patch board to do this and you will turn on the corresponding channel on the board.

Equipment you will need

One 1/8" male stereo adapter to dual RCA cable, 3 feet or longer
One 1/8" male stereo adapter to dual RCA cable, 3 feet or longer
Two RCA female to 1/4" male mono adapters
Two RCA female to 1/4" male mono adapters

—OR—

One 1/8" male stereo to dual 1/4" phono adapter cable, 3 feet or longer
One 1/8" male stereo to dual 1/4" phono adapter cable, 3 feet or longer

You'll also need:

  • Your digital media player of choice
  • The BACK studio

Connecting the dots

  1. If using (Dual RCA cable + 1/4" Adapters): plug the adapters into the cable in the obvious manner.
  2. Plug the cable with adapters into the PROD CONSOLE in the bottom row in the patch bay (see photo with iPod).
  3. Plug the other end of the cable (1/8" stereo adapter) into your digital media player of choice: portable CD player, iPod, laptop, etc. (again see photo)

On the main board

  1. Turn the FRONT STUDIO strip ON
  2. Press in the top button
  3. Test, adjust levels
  4. Press play!
